Gregg has long admired the original—and here, he replaces Mt. Fuji with a glowing California sunset, blending the spirit of Japan and the energy of the Pacific Coast into one striking scene. The waves hide tributes to Hokusai and Japan, while the sun reveals symbols rooted in California, uniting two oceans, two cultures, and two artists in one unforgettable image.
